Elrod Ferry Recreation Area
Elrod Ferry is located off of US Hwy 29 in Hart County,
Georgia, approximately 2.5 miles north of the city of
Hartwell and approximately 3 miles from the Hartwell Dam
and the Georgia/South Carolina state line.
Hart State Park
Hart State Park is located three miles north of Hartwell
off U.S. 29. The park has 76 tent and trailer sites as
well as two cottages on its 147 acres. The park hours
are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and the office hours are 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. There is a $2 park pass fee. For information

Lake Hartwell State Park
Located in Oconee County on the shores of Lake Hartwell
is this beautiful state park. Offering year around
fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking, as well as
excellently maintained walking and hiking trails this
state park is a place you must visit to enjoy the
wildlife and beautiful scenery.
Richard B. Russell Lake
Russell Lake in Elbert County offers visitors
pristine waters for fishing, swimming, boating, camping,
and hiking. Russell Lake's undeveloped shorelines
means that visitors can enjoy not only a beautiful,
relaxing day on the lake, but also scenery uninterrupted
by houses and development, making the lake ideal for
wildlife viewing. In developing the lake, the
Army Corps of Engineers has strived to maintain the
aesthetic qualities of the lake and shoreline, keeping
the area strikingly beautiful and picturesque. There are
multiple campgrounds and state parks in the area that
offer miles of hiking trails through this gorgeous
landscape.
Tugaloo State Park
Located in Lavonia, Georgia, Tugaloo State Park offers
393 acres of unspoiled lands and 4 miles for hiking
trails. Visitors to the park love walking through the
Crow Tree and Muscadine nature trails that wind through
gigantic live oaks, and beautiful orchards of walnut,
mulberry and cherry trees.
